Laundry
Our dominant presence in laundries is a result of superior performance provided by our premium lubricant products. Lubrication Engineers is designated as the prime lubricant supplier to the nations largest commercial laundries service and recommended by manufacturers of equipment used in laundries.
To accomplish the complicated task in a laundry, such as washing, ironing, starching, folding, sorting and delivering, a vast variety of equipment has to be maintained. The environment is high humidity, high alkalinity and high heat. Commercial washers and dryers are quite large. Some may hold up to 2,000 pounds of uniforms, sheets, rugs, and hand towels. The principle of operation is the same as your washer or dryer at home with large cylindrical "bins" containing the materials being washed or dried. The bins are either shaft or chain and sprocket driven. 1275 ALMAPLEX® Industrial Lubricant is an ideal grease to be used in laundry facilities for bearings calling for grease because it is very effective in severe operations caused by moisture and high temperatures. Also found in laundries are many chains, conveyors, central lubrication systems and applications for high temperature lubricants.
You will find gearboxes throughout a laundry. Again, because of the presence of water, 1600 Series (1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1605, 1606, 1607, 1608 and 1609) DUOLEC ™ Vari-Purpose Gear Lubricants are ideal because they will not emulsify with water. Water is easily drained off thus increasing the effective life of the gear oil and providing protection to metal surfaces.
Because of the size of the equipment in a commercial laundry, doors and lifts are hydraulically activated. Our 6105, 6110, 6120, 6130 and 6520 MONOLEC® Hydraulic Oils or MULTILEC® Industrial Oils (6801, 6802, 6803, 6804, 6805, 6806 or 6807) are ideal for these applications due to the water resistance capabilities in a very hot and humid operating environment. They will also provide excellent high temperature stability coupled with long oil life and uniform power flow. You should also remember that, in contrast to commercial hydraulic oils, our hydraulic oils are designed to keep rubber hoses and seals soft for long life. Hydraulic hoses tend to become hard and brittle, causing leaks. Lubrication Engineers products will keep these hoses soft and pliable resulting in maximum hose life.
Nearly all laundries have air compressors. Because of the heat and high humidity in laundries, our lubricants are ideal because of their water separation ability. An air compressor is usually ingesting air from the humid environment that, if retained within the air compressor, can cause catastrophic failure. With our Air Compressor Oils, water can be drained off to avoid problems.
