Garbage or refuse collection is part of any government's policies. These types of vehicles include garbage, scrap (roll-off), dumpsters, compactors and yard trash collection units. Because of the harsh conditions caused by dirt, moisture, heat and cold, Lubrication Engineers products have proven to meet these challenges.

The transport trucks used by waste disposal companies run for long intervals with a lot of stop and go driving, setting and idling. The environment is usually very damp and dirty with a wide temperature variation. This type of service can cause extensive soot accumulation and possible full dilution of the engine oil. For these situations, LE recommends the following products:

• 8800 MONOLEC® ULTRA Engine Oil
• 8130 MONOLEC® ULTRA-BLEND Engine Oil
• 8430 and 8440 MONOLEC® GFS Engine Oil
• 2300 L-X® Heavy-Duty Chemical Supplement

Trucks may be equipped with either a manual transmission or with a powershift/automatic transmission. Dirt, moisture, heavy loads and overheating can be common problems due to frequent stop and start driving. For automatic and powershift transmissions, we recommend:

• 1150 TRANS-ALL EHP Automatic Transmission Fluid
• 7500 MONOLEC® Power Fluid

For manual transmissions, Lubrication Engineers recommends:

• 703 & 704 MONOLEC® Gear Lubricant
• 8450 MONOLEC® GFS Engine Oil
• 401 ALMASOL® Pure Mineral Gear Lubricant

Standard differentials are commonly used. These are manufactured by Eaton, Rockwell and Spicer/Dana. Common problems are dirt, moisture, shock, heavy loads and start and stop driving. Trucks spinning the tires into and out of ice on roads can cause severe shock loads. For these concerns, we recommend:

• 1601-1609 DUOLEC™ Vari-Purpose Gear Lubricant
• 703 & 704 MONOLEC® Gear Lubricant
• 9920 SYNOLEC® Gear Lubricant

U-joints and suspensions include drivelines, kingpins, spring shackle pins and steering components. Typical issues include dirt, moisture, shock, heavy loads, stop and start driving and driver abuse. Our high quality greases (3750, 3751, 3752 ALMAGARD® Vari-Purpose Lubricant ) are ideal for these conditions.
